The municipal council of Altomünster has appointed seven instead of six committees for the new legislative period.

The municipal council of Altomünster has appointed seven instead of six committees for the new legislative period.

Altomünster - The additional committee comes about through the division of the Construction and Environment Committee. Now there is an Environment and Sustainability Committee and a Building Committee that is solely responsible for building matters. At the same time, its powers have been expanded. The construction committee can now accompany all site planning until the end of the procedure. "In line with the specifications of the municipal council," stressed Altomünsters Mayor Michael Reiter (FWG). "If the basic principles of planning determined by the municipal council change in the development plan procedure, a corresponding decision must be taken in the municipal council," says a footnote.

The financial powers of the building committee have also been expanded. He can now place orders for construction projects of the municipality up to a value of 80,000 euros (previously 50,000 euros) and conduct property transactions up to a value of 80,000 euros (previously 30,000 euros). This is due to the increased property prices in the market town and price increases in the construction industry, justified managing director Christian Richter the changes.

The Environment and Sustainability Committee was stimulated by the CSU Altomünster to show "that the future council work will pay more attention to the issues of sustainability and environmental protection", according to a CSU press release. The CSU also made it clear "that the committees for culture and social affairs will again be used in the new period". The tradition of the monastery is also an obligation, as the CSU continues.

In addition, the community development committee is to be revived.

All committees are decision-making. Mayor Michael Reiter (FWG) chairs five of the seven committees. The Culture Committee, on the other hand, is headed by the Culture Officer, in this case Susanne Köhler (FDP). The FWG had ceded its seat here. Maria Buchberger (CSU) heads the audit committee.

The committees are composed (each of the chair and six other members):
