The United States has warned of a wave of Chinese industrial espionage targeting laboratories and research institutes working on a Covid-19 vaccine, and the risks this threat poses to their work. In an unusual statement, the FBI and the Agency for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security last week called on US agencies carrying out coronavirus research to be extra vigilant, and above all for the first time named China as the origin of these intrusions.
