Update from May 16, 2020, 5.42 p.m .: Sad certainty in the case of the missing Bundeswehr soldier (32). As reported by the Passauer Neue Press e, the body of the missing person is said to have been found this Saturday.
According to this, the emergency services found a lifeless body in a helicopter in the upper area of the walkway on the northern foothills of the Reiter Alpe at an altitude of 1248 meters. Other forces who had finally arrived at the site found the missing soldier dead.

Update from 8:23 pm: As reported by the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), the missing person could not be found until Friday evening . Twelve groups and several search dog teams searched 20 paths and trails in the Lattengebirge. Moving fog and most of the time pouring rain made it difficult to see, but at times the deep cloud cover broke up so far that ditches and slopes that were difficult to see and reach from the ground could be thoroughly searched from the air with the drone and the police helicopter .

Bad Reichenhall - On Thursday evening (May 14th), the police reported a black and blue mountain bike cordoned off at the bottom of the Waxriessteig (Predigtstuhl, Lattengebirge).
A police patrol then checked the mountain and was able to assign it to a Bundeswehr soldier who had been missing since Monday (May 11) and who, without any further indication, had probably set off on a bike or mountain tour and never returned. This was announced by the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) district association Berchtesgadener Land.

The missing person is the 32-year-old Bad Reichenhaller. He is described as follows: approx. 1.60 meters tall, slim, athletic, has striking light blue eyes and short, dark blonde hair. He is probably out and about in sporty outdoor clothing.

Three groups of the mountain rescue services Bad Reichenhall , Freilassing and Teisendorf-Anger were requested by the police at around 0.50 a.m. after the discovery and assignment of the bike and then searched the Waxriessteig from above and below from one to four in the morning and the further route walk from the sermon chair to the Hochschlegel.
