Many happy reports have recently surfaced of a large surge in anticipation after the Corona crisis. We are excited, and rightly so, by Jews returning to their homeland. But the question we must ask ourselves is what our commitment to them really is in their days as a correction. What did we do, or more precisely, what did we not do, to get closer, and not just when the end of the world seemed to come?

To tell you the truth, we reset them on a high shelf and we only mention them in the Torah storm, whether it is the Western Wall outline or that it is an insult to Absalom Cold, and when we want to donate money. "The Jews in the Diaspora are more of a thumping and ATM" - here's something we may know to recite, but in practice, it's as if that's all we want them to be.

Israel-Diaspora relations in real crisis. When I visited the Etz Chaim community in Pittsburgh about a week after the horrific massacre there, one of the worshipers approached me and said to me, "When you return to Israel, tell them we are Jewish." That explains everything. Unsurprisingly, they feel that we are alienating ourselves as we wage a fierce war in one of many across the Western Wall, when in one thousand and one ways we convey to them the message that "you are not Jewish enough", all while many of them are synagogues and proficient in Judaism Israelis.

The incoming Diaspora server has one major task - to restore relations between us and the Jewish communities at a time when they are facing a real crisis. The way to do this is by conceptual reversal: to make diaspora a domestic rather than a foreign topic.

Education should begin. The education system must teach the students of Israel about Diaspora Jewry, recognize the different currents, customs, difficulties and challenges of the Diaspora way of life, the ways of coping with manifestations of hatred - just as we expect them to understand the insurmountable threats that Israeli citizens are exposed to Everyday basis.

Meetings must take place at all levels. Israeli elected officials visiting abroad must also visit synagogues and Jewish centers, not only for a short prayer or symbolic speech, but also for a dialogue with the community. They must ask with intent, what can we do to help you? Travel there, and Diaspora youth need to come to the country to talk and get in. Significant budgets should be spent on this, in educational programs and meetings, in sending educational content and in joint conferences, and the

State of Israel today is in a special position to assist Jews in exile. betrayal.
