The entrepreneur Otto von Hessen (55) apparently died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday morning.
The Bild newspaper reported. The accident is said to have occurred on the A96 near Lindau on Lake Constance. Von Hessen, who owned several McDonald's branches, was reported to have crashed into a guardrail on his way to Switzerland and at Wangen-West with his Ducati. He suffered fatal injuries.
