"Today we need to bring all of the energies together, so that France can catch up and be able to recover quickly enough," said the former socialist minister.

The former socialist minister Ségolène Royal, acerbic critic of Emmanuel Macron at the beginning of the year, judged Sunday May 17 that it was no longer time to " criticize " the executive, calling on the contrary to " converge the all energies ”.

" We are entering a new phase where we need everyone's energy, this is no longer the time to criticize or argue, even if these criticisms were very useful and should have been heard, " said Ségolène Royal on BFMTV. " Everything has been said both about the positive things that could have been done, in particular about the economic decisions, and about the loopholes and shortcomings, " continued the former socialist presidential candidate of 2007, recalling in passing that 'she had pointed out early in the coronavirus crisis the lack of masks available in France.

" The whole world has seen the difficulties of managing the crisis in France, and therefore today we need to bring all of the energies together, so that France can catch up and can recover quickly ", a she estimated.

Gradually more and more critical of the executive after having judged favorably the election of Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, Ségolène Royal had mentioned at the beginning of the year the hypothesis of a presidential candidacy in 2022, in the name of a " third voice " between " the global elite " that Emmanuel Macron would embody and the far right.

The head of state has been hammering for weeks his call for the unity of the French to face the consequences of the health crisis. He did it again on Sunday during a tribute to General de Gaulle.
