Washington (dpa) - The US Air Force has once again launched its unmanned X-37B spacecraft into orbit. The Atlas V launch vehicle with the spaceship had successfully launched in Cape Canaveral, said the Boeing aviation group, which built the X-37B.

It is the sixth mission of the spacecraft to commemorate NASA's famous Space Shuttle. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper congratulated on the launch.

The current mission is to launch a satellite and carry out experiments, among other things. X-37B was last in orbit for 780 days before the spacecraft returned to Earth last October. According to Boeing, the spaceship was originally only designed for missions of up to 270 days.
