Book fights for the preservation of the bank machines Closing of the VR bank branch Topic in the municipal council - municipality offers parking spaces - where to go with the defi?

Buch am Buchrain– After a two-month break, the Buch municipal council met again for the first time in May. In addition to the organizational issues for the new term of office (we reported), the committee dealt with only one topic in its constituent meeting: the closure of the VR Bank branch on Hauptstrasse.

After closing the branch: where to put the defibrillator?

Mayor Ferdinand Geisberger (CSU) again regretted that the municipality was faced with fait accompli and that communication was late. In a letter to the VR Bank board members, which is available in our newspaper, Geisberger fights above all to preserve the self-service machines. In the letter, the town hall chief describes the future development of the municipality by moving to or being close to the A 94. Geisberger also made the VR Bank the cooperative offer that the municipality would provide a free area for the machines. The requested appointment could not take place because of the corona crisis.

SPD councilor Robert Ulzhöfer had to consider that there was no more space for the defibrillator stationed there due to the closure of the bank branch. The mayor is also aware of this. "At the moment, I can't immediately think of a suitable place," he admitted, indicating that he wanted to talk to fire brigade commander Thomas Steidler (CSU). The defi could possibly be stationed at the new garden shed. In order to ensure the safety of the medical emergency device, Matthias Steutzger (party-free) proposed the setting up of an emergency column, where access to the defi would only be activated if necessary.

"Violent Restrictions" by Corona

The session in Buch, as everywhere, took place under completely different framework conditions. The parish hall on the ground floor was converted into a conference room. There were strict safety clearances, there were separate entrances for community councils and listeners. Only eleven guests can currently attend the sessions.

The temporary seating also takes some getting used to for the local council. Ulzhöfer once supported his will to speak with a cell phone flashlight, since Geisberger had not noticed him in the last row for a long time.

The town hall boss spoke of "enormous restrictions" due to the Corona crisis and regretted that he could no longer say goodbye to the former municipal councilors Martin Kunstwadl and Martin Ostermeier in the old period. That should be made up for. Nevertheless, democratic activity should no longer lie completely flat in the future: monthly meetings are now planned again.

Clubs can use the community hall

Geisberger also offered the local associations the opportunity to use the parish hall with the prepared safety clearances free of charge for board meetings. VG branch manager Gottfried Prostmeier mentioned that since the last meeting in March, several development plans had been processed by Geisberger within the scope of his powers. The committee should be informed about this.
