The planes took off for showcases designed to elevate the mood of the nation's citizens during the Corona fight • In an accident, the aerobatic squadron spokesman was killed

A Canadian Air Force aerobatic plane crashed (Sunday) during an aviation display aimed at elevating the mood of the nation's citizens as they faced the restrictions imposed to combat the Corona virus that spread in the country. In the tragic accident, the pilot of the plane was seriously injured and the squadron spokeswoman, Jennifer Casey, was killed.

The accident happened shortly after two planes from the Canadian Air Force's aerobatic crew, known as SnowBirds, took off for a solemn flight and immediately afterwards the crashed plane was shot downwards and then plunged quickly down to the ground. Following the dive of the plane, which while spinning on its way to the ground, appeared to have activated the escape chair in the plane, albeit at a problematic launching angle that could jeopardize the ejection.

The severely injured, though not life-threatening, pilot dropped out after being ejected from one of the neighborhoods in the city of Kamloops in the Canadian province of British Columbia, while the plane appeared to be crashing in a relatively wooded area. The plane was later seen crashing near one of the houses in the area.

The Canadian Air Force posted a tweet on the Twitter network stating that "the Royal Canadian Air Force suffered another tragic loss of a dedicated member of the team. We are saddened and mourned by Jen's family and friends. Our thoughts are also with Captain McDougall's loved ones. We hope for a quick recovery from his injuries ".
