Ben Oliel's conviction for the murder of the three members of the Dawabsha family marks yet another dismal chapter in the history of Jewish terror. The murder of the Dawabsha family, about a year after the murder of Muhammad Abu Khadir, led President Rivlin to say the famous phrase "My people chose the path of terror and lost a human photographer". Many of my friends on the right remember him for the trial. In their view, it is a loss of total proportion, and the imposition and blemish of all Israeli Jews, not their fault.

Among right-wingers, any such accusation is the order of magnitude of the collective accusation of Rabin's murder. It is difficult to maintain a mental account when dealing with rejection of external charges. It is convenient to unite in the face of external criticism and allow "business as usual".

I urge my right-wing friends, and my settler friends in particular, not to follow this path. This is a bad path for every community and person, and especially for those who see Judaism as a major value source. Judaism educates for self-correcting and soul-searching, and condemns addiction to self-conviction that "everything is fine." Judaism is educating our peers about a deviation from the straight path, and not a line-up.

There is a continuum, even if not a direct line, between Ben Oliel and his friends, and various "price tag" phenomena. There is a direct line between the forgiveness and embrace that the hill youth receives from time to time, between the cutting of olive trees and violent attacks on Palestinian farmers.

It's one thing to know it in your head, and another thing to feel it. Last October, our volunteers and rabbis were attacked during an olive harvest in Burin. From Yitzhar, masked youths arrived and attacked 80-year-old Rabbi Moshe Yehudai, and other people, while burning the olive trees. Also been accused as alone this violence banished, to a youth group hills around violently attacked Israeli soldiers. Not for the first time nor the last time.

If we are silent when attacked farmers Palestinians, remain silent when attacked Rabbis. If we are silent when attacked Rabbis, remain silent when attacked our troops. With every failure laying, I look forward to meeting rightists and settlers standing clearly in front of these symptoms. join to "tag Meir", raising Jewish voice in front of Jewish terrorism. supporters attacked. burners evil from their midst.

of the heifer teach us a lesson resonates. We need to correct if we Even if we did not choose the path of terror, the scene of the Jewish struggle We don't have to look at the world with simplistic good and bad, and fool ourselves, to choose a path of repentance and repentance. My right, let's stand together as the team of "evil, and do good."
