Two years ago, the aide was not convicted by Skibenko, of the "Masha and the Bear" nursery in Petah Tikva, in the killing of toddler Jasmine Vinta. The court imposed Skibenko 17 years in prison and compensation of NIS 120,000.

The indictment was filed in Lod District Court after the security cameras in the nursery revealed that Skibenko slammed Vinta on the mattress with another baby, threw a blanket over her and lay on it while tinkering with her cellphone until the toddler died. Vinta was only one and two months old at the time of her death. In the original indictment, Skibenko was also charged with abusing infants in various preschool cases, but she signed a plea deal that many condemned, in exchange for infringing offenses being converted into felony-only felony convictions.

Jasmine's parents, citizens of Moldova, have since returned to Moldova, separated - and returned to Israel. They buried their daughter in Moldova. Last July, the Interior Minister approved the extension of their work visa, but the visa renewal application in February this year was rejected.

The Population and Immigration Authority commented: "These are two foreign nationals staying in Israel and wishing to continue working in the country, as many other foreigners are seeking. In the unfortunate circumstances of the case, the daughter of the two - who have not been married for a while - is buried in their homeland and not in Israel. Confirm their continued stay in Israel, which has been approved under certain circumstances, and they must return to their homeland.
