The Fiqh Scientific Council at the Ministry of Endowments decided to suspend the Eid al-Fitr prayers in congregation in the mosques as part of precautionary measures to address the Corona virus.

The council stated in a statement that Sana received a copy of it that he decided to suspend the Eid prayer in congregation in the mosques in order to protect oneself and pay for danger, indicating that it can be connected to its body at home with the family in congregation without sermon or individual.

The council reminded of the necessity to perform charity al-Fitr before entering the time for Eid prayer and expansion for the poor, children, wombs, and neighborhood, while observing the required health controls.

The Fiqh Scientific Council in the Ministry of Endowments and the Union of Levant Scholars issued a fatwa suspending the Friday prayers, sermons, and congregational prayers in Syrian mosques temporarily, starting from the 15th of last March in the interest of the safety of citizens and visitors to the mosques.

On the fourth of this month, the Ministry of Awqaf announced that mosques will be opened for Friday prayers only, starting on Friday, 15th of Ramadan 1441 AH, corresponding to May 8, 2020, with the need to adhere to the procedures to address the Corona virus, while continuing to suspend the rest of the group’s prayers temporarily.
