Less than two weeks ago, Uber had already cut 3,700 jobs, including in customer service. Uber boss Dara Khosrowshahi said the company wanted to focus its business more on mobility and delivery services. Uber, which posted losses before the crisis, plans to cut costs by more than $ 1 billion overall.

The cuts and the focus on the core business also go hand in hand with a restructuring of the company structure. In addition to the food delivery company Uber Eats, the courier service Uber Direct and the delivery of food are also to be integrated into the new delivery services division.
