The number of farmers and producers benefiting from the popular market set up by the City Council of Jableh has risen to 30 people a week after its inauguration with the participation of farmers currently offering various agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits and processed foodstuffs, as well as artisan products at lower prices than neighboring markets.
Qandilil pointed out that the council prepared another market behind the central park in the city to transfer the market to it with the expansion of activity and the increase in requests for occupancy of the market stalls with the provision of integrated services of water, electricity and toilets indicating that the current market can accommodate 50 stalls and a sales outlet of which 30 were occupied and formed An administrative committee for the market and a working group to follow up on work in terms of controlling materials and not exceeding the specified area, price and public health.
Daad Kazour met Sana during her shopping from the market, noting that the popular market represents for her an opportunity to direct shopping at the best prices, expressing her hope that the market will expand to include more integrated products that reduce citizens' costs.
The farmer Younis Aziz from Qaloua village, after he sold most of his production in the market, indicated that he offered his products today from peas, parsley, beans and potatoes, and said, “The result of cheap prices compared to the rest of the markets, and with a difference of not less than one hundred Syrian pounds, we sold all of our products .. because everyone searches for The best and cheapest. ”
The farmer Shadi Allan from Sianou Village showed that he brought his products to the market after contacting the agricultural association in Jableh, indicating that selling in the market reduced him some costs and saved people the profit of the merchants.
