Ulla Gocke throws down. The municipal councilor from Brunnthal is no longer part of the CSU parliamentary group. This means that the absolute majority is lost.

Brunnthal - Shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday morning, Ulla Gocke sends an email to the editorial team. In two short sentences, she said: “Today I left the CSU faction of the Brunnthal local council with immediate effect. I will continue to serve as an elected member of the local council. ”At first, she did not justify her move. At the request of Munich's Merkur, Gocke referred to the recent meeting and the election of Mayor Stefan Kern's (CSU) deputy last Wednesday. Thomas Mayer (CSU) was re-elected as Kern's first deputy, and Gocke was elected as the third mayor. However, one candidate from the opposition won the race: Robert Huber from PWB. Faistenhaarer Huber had been proposed by Gockes parliamentary colleague Martin Rottenhuber. Gocke has no understanding for that. The councilor also considers it unacceptable that the PWB candidate was chosen “with the votes of the CSU”. She also left the party.

"Losing is one thing, but a counterproposal from your own group is strange"

"Unimportant" is that no woman has won the race, emphasizes Gocke. "If you lose, that's one thing, but if a counterproposal comes from your own group, I find it strange." It stands for "targeted and factual policy," says the councilor. "Regardless of who makes which suggestions." The CSU approach "is something where acceptance simply stops". Gocke will in future be party-free in the municipal council and will join the parliamentary group from UBW and Christine Zietsch from the SPD. She has to give up her position as chair of the women's union - a prerequisite is CSU membership.

Mayor: Three CSU citizens from Brunnthal - that's not possible

CSU chairman and mayor Stefan Kern was surprised by Gocke's move. In the morning, the manager of the community, and later the CSU office, informed him about Gockes mail. The decision to leave the faction was made without warning. Kern says: “It's not okay in terms of style. You could have had a conversation there. ”There was one last conversation about the proxy question in two preliminary talks before the local elections, the mayor explains. He would also have liked to see a woman in office: "But three CSUs, three Brunnthaler - that is not possible." The CSU had come "with agony" over 50 percent, because it could not fill all three mayor positions. The PWB had the second best election result, emphasizes the town hall chief.

In addition, his new second representative comes from Faistenhaar and is firmly rooted in the district. Gocke had previously described herself as Hofoldinger, says Kern. "I can only smile at that." She comes from Brunnthal and is a member of the stick shooters in Hofolding. In the local elections, Kern says, Gocke achieved "a very good election result, the best among women." And the performance in the election of deputies with nine to eleven votes is a short result: "She didn't lose her face there."

"Thing, not party in the foreground"

Martin Rottenhuber from the CSU, who suggested Robert Huber, agrees with Kern: One of the deputies should not belong to the CSU and come from another part of the city. Rottenhuber emphasizes that he has nothing against Gocke, and that he does not doubt her qualification. "I told her that too." The CSU member was newly elected to the municipal council, and he believes that "the matter must be in the foreground and not the party".
