Freising's parking garages are being modernized and the municipal utility company is offering a new service: in the future, customers will also be able to make cashless payments there.

Freising - The Freisinger Stadtwerke Parkhaus und Verkehrs-GmbH takes some money in hand to gradually modernize the payment technology of all parking garages. After the old town car park in Alois-Steinecker-Straße, it is now the turn of the car park on Wörth. As of next Monday, all major bank and credit cards, including contactless, can be used for payment. The parking garage in the lower old town follows two weeks later.

"New system is very customer-friendly"

The modernization of the two parking garages costs 280,000 euros. The entire technical system, all machines and the barriers will be replaced for the changeover. This also changes the parking tickets and the cards. Anyone who uses a season ticket has already received the new card. The new monthly season tickets are available from the Freisinger Stadtwerke. What is particularly interesting for customers is that payments can now be made here without cash.

"The new system is less susceptible to faults and is therefore very customer-friendly," said Georg Maderlehner, technical employee of the Freising public utility company Parkhaus und Verkehrs-GmbH. "It was so well received in the Altstadt parking garage that we are now tackling our other two parking garages in one go." Ft
