The body of China's ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, was flown to China on Wednesday following an official farewell ceremony at the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Ben Gurion Airport. Foreign Ministry Director General Yuval Rotem and President Harel Tobi's House Director. Chinese embassy officials attended.
"Who would have thought we would say goodbye to the ambassador in such tragic circumstances," Rotem eulogized the ambassador. "Despite his short time in Israel since his arrival, it is impossible not to notice the importance he attributed to his country's mission and representation," he continued.
The Foreign Office chief said that despite being in isolation during his first two weeks in office because of the Corona epidemic, he continued to promote cross-border initiatives.
Prime Minister Braverman presented Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's condolences on his death. "Despite his young age, he has accumulated many accomplishments for Chinese diplomacy in the top positions he has played around the world," Braverman said.
The Relations Commissioner and Deputy Ambassador Dai Yuming thanked Israel for the many condolences. "We are grateful to the Israeli government for organizing this ceremony," he said. He said that after Ambassador Du accepted his position in Israel, he said without hesitation that he had come to promote friendship and cooperation between the countries.
