Firefighting crews in the Civil Defense Directorate in Homs Governorate put out several fires yesterday in agricultural lands and forest trees in the governorate.
Brigadier General Ghayath Aqel, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, said in a statement to SANA correspondent that the firefighting crews managed to put out a fire that broke out in a large wheat field that extends between the villages of Umm Haratin and Samakiat in the Qusair region in Homs countryside and extended to about ten acres, pointing out that the cause of the fire is due to high temperatures.
Akil pointed out that the civil defense personnel were also able to put out a fire that broke out in the village of Al-Dar Al-Kabira in Homs countryside, causing forest trees with an area of fifteen dunums due to the high temperatures.
Aqil also pointed out that another fire broke out in a park in the Al-Qusour neighborhood of Homs.
