Ankara-Sana

A Turkish report showed high rates of suicide and unemployment among the country's youth population over the past six years.

The Turkish newspaper Zaman quoted the People's Republican Party member, Tekin Bingol, as saying in a report about the difficulties faced by Turkish youth during the pandemic of the new Corona virus, “during the period between 2003 and 2018, 1,274 young people between the ages of 15 and 34 committed suicide due to the difficulties of living.”

He pointed out that unemployment rates rose during the past six years by about 7 percent, and among university graduates by about 10 percent, which made one of every four young people suffer from unemployment.

The failed policies of the Turkish regime led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the deteriorating political and security conditions caused by the repressive practices of this system have caused economic repercussions on the country, including a decline in tourism and investments and a decrease in foreign exchange revenues in the form of reducing the confidence of foreign investors in the Turkish economy and the collapse of the Turkish lira and the high level of unemployment.
