Earlier, at 2:30 a.m. today, the Observatory issued the first red rainstorm warning signal this year, indicating that heavy rains exceeding 50 mm per hour have been recorded or expected in a wide area of Hong Kong, and the rain may continue.
Strong wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour or more are expected to hit Hong Kong.
A special report on flooding in the northern New Territories and a thunderstorm warning are also in effect.
