Urban H's high school students in Modi'in were left out of the gate for hours after arriving with shorts • At the same time, the Education Minister ordered an investigation in case a 7.5-year-old student was forced to walk without pants in a school in Petah Tikva

School protest protests continue. Dozens of students from Urban E High School in Modi'in were left many hours outside the school gate Wednesday after arriving with shelters. While the boys were allowed into the school in shorts as usual - the students were not allowed to claim to have gone through the bylaws.

Shorts protests continue across the country

The students say they were left in the sun from the morning while the school principal refuses to go out and talk to them. "The protest started because of the heat, we wanted to come with a shorts and right now it is forbidden unless it is below the knee which makes it much longer. 40 degrees heat, we die but boys put on a shorts over the knee," says a schoolgirl.

"This is not a religious school, there is no reason to act like that," the student said. "After our protest, the principal agreed to meet with us and resolve things. Hopefully she will agree - if we do not continue to fight and we will not give it up."

This is not the only protest, in different schools across the country, students protested the discrimination that during the hard days, they were not allowed to wear shorts - while boys were allowed. The protest began at a school in Ra'anana, when on the first day of her return to school after the Corona period, the junior high in the city decided not to bring girls in shorts to school and left them out in the heavy fire.

Students across the country claim severe gender discrimination, protesting that these harsh heat conditions may not allow them to dress in shorts while boys are allowed to dress as they please. In its response, the Ministry of Education resolves itself from the responsibility and argues that the responsibility lies with the schools.

The Intelligence Municipality commented: "A decision on an equitable dress code for students and students is made by the school principal, in collaboration with the school's parent leadership and with the aim of creating a respectful and respectful atmosphere in the school. Each school principal must have a value discourse and teach with the students and determine the dialogue. The procedures and dress code for boys and girls. "

Also, yesterday, the story of a 7.5-year-old student of hope was forced to spend a full day with a school shirt and underwear after the teacher refused to wear a dress on which the school's emblem was printed. The case was brought to the attention of the Minister of Education, who today ordered the examination and investigation and presentation of his conclusions to the Director General of the Ministry for the prevention of similar cases in the future. Minister Yoav Galant said: "Adherence to values norms and the safety of students will be a candle to the educational system."

According to the case details, yesterday the student arrived at the school wearing a black sleeveless dress. The school principal did not like the dress contacted the mother and demanded that she bring her daughter a replacement clothing, the mother explained that she could not leave school and the girl had to take off the dress and walk around with a school shirt and underwear.
