Palestinian Authority Chairman's decision to withdraw from all agreements with Israel and the US is no coincidence, even before the UN Security Council convenes • Despite the assessment that "Abbas will not break the tools", this is a dramatic declaration that needs appropriate reference • Interpretation

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' announcement at the Palestinian leadership meeting in Ramallah to cancel the agreements with Israel towards the implementation of the plan for annexation of the valley and the large settlement blocks in Judea and Samaria is definitely dramatic. Despite the Israeli tendency to downplay the threats and warnings Rais sends, and the defense establishment's estimates that "Abbas will not break the tools," the announcement needs appropriate attention.

However, attention must be paid to the context of the matter and the timing in which Yavu Mazen declared the cancellation of all agreements signed with Israel and the United States, including the security agreements.

First, for over a decade, there has been a creeping depreciation at the level of coordination and cooperation between the Palestinian Authority and Israel in all areas. As well as in coordination and security cooperation. With no negotiations or a comprehensive political plan with a vision and horizon for the future, most of the cooperation between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is limited at the clerical level. The political echelon on both sides enters the picture only in exceptional cases where a clear and immediate decision is requested.

Not surprisingly, Abu Mazen decided to dramatically announce the withdrawal of the Palestinians from all agreements prior to the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday. The purpose of the conference is a special discussion of what is happening in the Middle East, during which the Security Council member states will also discuss the intention of containing the annexation. The UN to the Nikolai Mladnov region is expected to brief the matter during the hearing.

In an interview last week to the German newspaper "Der Spiegel", Jordanian King Abdullah II warned that the annexation course would lead to a clash between Amman and Jerusalem. Abu Mazen and senior Palestinian leaders in Ramallah are also well aware of the unofficial Jordanian position. According to them, they prefer to see the western border of the kingdom as IDF forces and certainly not Palestinian security forces or international power, as suggested by the foreign minister at the time of the Obama administration John Kerry - an initiative that Israel and the Jordanians strongly rejected.

The king did not, in an interview, declare that the annexation process would not cancel the peace agreement with Israel, but added that "all possibilities are being considered," knowing that his words will reach Palestinian ears quickly. Furthermore, Abu Mazen is well aware of the security and intelligence relations between Israel and Jordan regarding the Jordanian border. According to American publications, Israel provides the king with security assistance to fortify his rule against Islamic organizations threatening it from the Iraqi border.

Extortion in peace agreements

Even in its minimum-level format, Palestinian security coordination with most Israel has a great deal of weight, not only in preventing wanted terrorist operations, the PA and arresting wanted Palestinians in the West Bank. Every exit from Abbas and Palestinian officials from Ramallah requires security coordination with Israel, first and foremost, for the sake of security. Of Rais and his men.

In addition, there are hundreds and even thousands of Palestinians holding VIPs and other credentials. It can then be understood that a total suspension of coordination and security cooperation will mainly harm Palestinian interests.

It should be noted that quite a few senior Palestinian officials have expressed justified concern over how the Palestinian security forces will interpret Abu Mazen's announcements on the ground. It is well-known that while Ramallah and Nablus have control and discipline of the commanders of the Palestinian apparatus over their armed men, the situation in Hebron and Jenin has not often been the light of the hands of the Palestinian security forces in the confrontation with the IDF.

In order to prevent these cases, Abu Mazen and senior Palestinian security and policing officials, headed by Majad Prague, will convene to discuss the future Palestinian operations in the field in the absence of cooperation and security coordination with Israel.
