Swastikas were sprayed on grass at the golf club
Anti-Semitic event in Australia: Unknown people vandalized the Melbourne Golf Club on Thursday night and sprayed swastikas on the grass. State authorities have launched an investigation.
The prestigious golf club was founded by a group of Jews in 1951, and in its early years was intended primarily for Jewish golfers, whom they were prohibited from playing elsewhere due to being Jewish. Today, the club is open to the general public and is not used exclusively by Jews, but is still affiliated with Judaism, and thus has been the target of an anti-Semitic attack.
The Anti-Semitism Department of the World Zionist Organization condemned the event. Jacob Chaguel, Deputy and Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, said: "Anti-Semitic events have become commonplace and part of the agenda of Jews around the world. More physical and violent, due to more people taking to the streets. "
