Cold shoulder from Saudi Arabia: Foreign Ministry in the Arab kingdom announced Thursday that "Saudi Arabia rejects what has been published about plans and measures to annex West Bank territories and applying Israeli sovereignty to them."

Recall, the coalition agreement for the establishment of the unity government states that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be given the opportunity during the summer to bring the issue of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria to a vote in government or in the Knesset, subject to the agreement of the Americans. The agreement states that the government will endeavor to consider strategic and security considerations, as well as to maintain peace agreements with Arab states.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted on Al-Arabia that Saudi Arabia is condemning unilateral measures on every side, violations of international decisions, and anything that could undermine the opportunity to renew the peace process for achieving security and stability in the region. "

In a statement, Saudi Arabia reiterated its position regarding "the Palestinian people and its permanent standing and assistance in its elections, and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state, whose capital is East Jerusalem." The Kingdom's support was also highlighted in an effort to reinvigorate negotiations under international resolutions, "to continue a just and inclusive solution to Palestinian aspirations."

This announcement comes after a period when Saudi Arabia signaled a warming relationship.
