(CNN Spanish) -  We can already rule out an overflow by covid-19 in the country, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said this Friday.

Despite all the suffering, the loss of human life, he said, we have been able to avoid it.

The president also expressed his discomfort, given the information released by some local media, which compares the number of deaths recorded in Mexico by covid-19, with other countries.

"... Yellowing, but not only that, the lack of professionalism, because they make comparisons, for example, of the deceased in Mexico, with countries that have less population than our country and thus many exaggerations. So we are working every day. People have behaved very well, exceptionally, we are not in the situation that unfortunately other countries are. ”

The declaration takes place a day after the Mexican health authorities released their daily report on the behavior of the pandemic in the country.

On Thursday, 3,000 new cases of covid-19 infection were reported, which is the largest increase recorded in 24 hours since the pandemic began.

According to these figures, Mexico is the third country in Latin America, with the highest number of infections, behind Brazil and Peru, with 59,567.

According to the Johns Hopkins University count, Mexico is also among the 10 countries with the most deaths from covid-19 in the world.

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, maintained that tragedies cannot be compared, because it is in bad taste.
