Voucher instead of attendance fee: The Brucker city council wants to help retailers with a new form of expense allowance.

Fürstenfeldbruck - The past few weeks have been difficult for many retailers and restaurateurs in the district town. In order to set an example and make their own contribution, the Brucker city council members want to help with an unusual model of the allowance. They will receive part of their attendance fees in the form of vouchers for local businesses over the next few months. The city spokesman has now agreed unanimously on this procedure, the city confirms on request. And further: "The members of the city council show solidarity with the Brucker companies."

The sums

How much money city councilors receive as compensation for their voluntary work is regulated in the local municipal constitution law, which the 40-member committee decides at the beginning of each election period. In addition to a basic compensation of 200 euros per month, there is currently 50 euros for each city council, committee and parliamentary group meeting in which a city council member takes part. In addition, there may be further compensations, for example for group leaders or for self-employed persons who have lost earnings due to their commitment.

Trade association on board

Part of this compensation, namely for the meetings of the General Assembly of the City Council, is given to its members in the months of May, June and July in the form of vouchers. A total of five such meetings have been scheduled for this period. The city buys the vouchers and hands them over to the council members, who can redeem them at participating companies. The trade association has already written to its members and received some feedback, the city said. Mayor Erich Raff requests that other companies report. This is still possible until June 3 at the city's economic development agency
