(CNN) - A Long Island man was stabbed and killed by his son during a Zoom group video call on Thursday, Suffolk County Police said.

Dwight Powers was on the video call when his son, Thomas Scully-Powers, stabbed him around 12:04 pm in Amityville, police said. Several members of the video call alerted 911 after the incident, police added.

Scully-Powers, 32, fled the scene and was arrested about an hour later and charged with second-degree murder, police said in a statement.

He will be taken to a local hospital for treatment for minor injuries he sustained from jumping out of a window, police said.

Authorities did not provide further information about the incident.

CNN contacted Zoom for comment.
