In a new step that confirms the US administration’s continued support and armament to the Saudi regime involved in war crimes that have a brow of humanity in Yemen in addition to the crimes of repression and killing against its citizens, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ordered his ministry to find a way to justify the state of emergency that he decided to use in order to accelerate the sale of weapons Worth $ 8 billion to this system last year.

The American television network CNN quoted US sources as saying that Pompeo's request means that State Department officials were forced to prepare the situation to provide a justification for a decision taken "in an unconventional way."

In turn, a US State Department official indicated that there was a plan to search for a justification with the ministry and said that they "informed the office of the ministry's inspector general of what happened as part of an investigation into Pompeo's moves to expedite the arms deal."

The official pointed out that the administration of US President Donald Trump was intent on overcoming the "crisis" of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at his country's embassy in Turkey and said: "The Trump administration's message was that we must go ahead and provide support" in terms of expediting the arms deal.

International human rights organizations recently criticized many countries, including the United States and France, for continuing to supply weapons to the Saudi-led coalition in its aggression against Yemen since 2015, committing countless massacres against civilians, especially children and women, in its daily raids, its shelling of populated areas, and the use of a stifling blockade as a means of pressure.

It is noteworthy that a US Senate committee approved on June 26 last year legislation that makes it difficult for the US President to bypass the Congressional review of arms sales to the Saudi regime and others, which shows how angry members are about his approval of eight billion dollars in arms deals for this system.
