The National Counter-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Republic of Dagestan has announced the elimination of 6 militants who were preparing to carry out attacks on security and police personnel in Dagestan.
"As part of an anti-terrorist operation in the Khasavyurt region of Dagestan, information has been received about a group of armed criminals consisting of 6 individuals in a forest north of the village of Goksov intending to commit terrorist crimes," the TASS news agency quoted the media center of the commission as saying.
The media center added that the gang "was planning to carry out attacks on security men as well as blackmailing businessmen to support terrorist activities financially," noting that, according to available information, this gang was linked to the terrorist organization "ISIS".
On the 30th of last month, the Russian Federal Security Service foiled a terrorist plot in the city of Yekaterinburg and managed to eliminate three gunmen who were preparing to carry out attacks.
