Altomünster - Rector Ute Weiß presented a long list of measures at the meeting of the school association meeting on Wednesday evening.

The school closure in March expired practically from now on. "Pupils and teachers packed everything they found and then it was over," explained Ute Weiß.

At the end of April the ninth grade came back and children who had to be placed in emergency care groups. Since the two final classes are small classes, the approved maximum size of 15 children per group had to be easily adhered to, the rector said.

More grades followed little by little. Now only the second, third, sixth and seventh grades are missing. And those who are already there must adhere to a sophisticated security concept. "It was total stress for everyone beforehand," Ute Weiß reported. The security concept was not only developed by the two security officers Stefanie Gschwendtner (elementary school) and Andrea Heupel (middle school) in close cooperation with white and principal Susanne Tausche, but also implemented together with the two caretakers.

Waiting places were identified with a safe distance so that the learning groups could go to the school building at different times through different, assigned entrances. In the corridors, walkways were marked with one-way rules to avoid encounters in the corridors, staggered break times were set up, seating arrangements changed and seats personalized.

Toilets now have a marked waiting area and clearly visible instructions for proper hand washing. In addition, signs for the obligation to wear a mask hang on aisles everywhere.

The municipality of Altomünster sponsored spit protection for the teacher desks and partitions for the IT rooms, which were installed by teacher Martin Pongratz and caretaker Hans Pettinger.

"At the moment, teaching is unfamiliar to everyone involved," says Ute Weiß. But homeschooling was and is a challenge even for young teachers. "You don't learn something like that in the legal clerkship." Ute Weiß also emphasized in the meeting that this is becoming more and more common. "We have all undergone advanced training in digitization, are incredibly innovative and try a lot." Only video conferences sometimes cause problems.

The Rector also emphasized that she understood all pupils, colleagues and parents who “sometimes reach their limits”. At the same time, it is important to her that you show mutual appreciation and understanding.

Susanne Köhler (FDP) had some questions. One of them related to hygiene products. "Did the school get everything there?" Ute Weiß was able to affirm this. Everything had been disinfected at school and there are enough soap and hygiene products on the toilets. In the meantime, however, some students showed allergic reactions to the soaps. That is why, according to Ute Weiß, "they should just bring what they can take with them."
