Mexico set a record for deaths due to coronavirus infection in one day and recorded 479 new deaths in addition to 2960 new infections.
Reuters quoted the Ministry of Health as saying that there have been 62,527 injuries and 6,989 deaths so far since the first cases were discovered in Mexico in late February.
The previous peak of deaths was on the 20th of this month when the authorities reported 424 deaths.
The World Health Organization warned yesterday that South America is becoming a new focus of the "Covid 19" epidemic, with a situation that causes concern, especially in Brazil.
