The Iranian Fortune oil tanker has arrived on the coast of Venezuela, defying the US blockade and unilateral embargoes, according to the Iranian embassy in Caracas today.
The embassy said in a tweet on Twitter: "The arrival of the Iranian oil tanker on the Venezuelan coast ... We thank the Bolivarian armed forces for accompanying and protecting them."
The Telsur channel reported earlier that the tanker entered the Venezuelan waters accompanied by boats, hovercraft and aircraft belonging to the Bolivarian Armed Forces, and it is expected that four other Iranian fuel ships will arrive in the Venezuelan waters later.
The new Venezuelan oil minister, Tariq Al-Aissami, thanked Iran yesterday and wrote in a tweet to him on Twitter: “The cooperation between Iran and Venezuela in the energy field as well as it makes us united as OPEC member states, it is also based on scientific exchange and the development of hydrocarbon industries .. Thank you, my brothers. ”
The move, which constitutes a challenge to the US blockade of Venezuela, enraged Washington, which announced by the US naval force last Wednesday that it had directed 4 warships and an "B8 Poseidon" plane to the Caribbean Sea to intercept Iranian ships, so that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani would respond by warning that "in the event of Iranian oil tankers for any problem, whether in the Caribbean Sea or in any other region of the world, the Americans will be exposed to a problem so we hope they will not make any mistake. ”
