Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro participated in a rally on Sunday with his supporters, defying health standards and rules of social distancing as Brazil has become the second country most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the world. The head of state presented himself in front of the presidential palace in Brasilia with a white mask on his face, but quickly removed him to greet the crowd, shake hands and hug his supporters. He even carried a child on his shoulders.

Jair Bolsonaro appeared all smiles in front of his supporters who chanted: "Legend!" and "The people support you, Bolsonaro" . If the Brazilian president has a solid base of support - around 30% of voters, according to polls -, he has drawn the wrath of critics for his management of the health crisis and following an explosive investigation that seeks to find out if he obstructed justice to protect his family.

With nearly 350,000 confirmed cases and more than 22,000 deaths, Brazil is the second country in the world most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, after the United States.
