Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Because three Polish citizens stubbornly followed the instructions of their navigation system, they triggered a mountain rescue and fire service on Saturday at 5.20 p.m. The men - 26, 29 and 40 years old - came from the south and actually wanted to go to Augsburg. Without further thinking, they drove their Fiat Ducato ever further into rough terrain until they got stuck below the Längenfelder lift. The recovery was very difficult in this area according to police. Forces from the Grainau mountain rescue team and the Grainau fire brigade finally brought the vehicle and the passengers safely into the valley.
