Coronavirus: more than 40,000 dead in Latin America and the Caribbean

The epidemic of new coronavirus has killed more than 40,000 people in Latin America and the Caribbean since its beginning, according to a count made Sunday by AFP on the official database. With 22,666 deaths and 363,211 confirmed cases, Brazil is by far the country most affected by Covid-19 in the region, followed by Mexico (7,394 deaths for 68,620 cases) and Peru (3,456 deaths for 119,959 cases)....
