French MP Claude Guazan died on Thursday of the Corona virus at the age of 75. Guzagan was one of the prominent MPs who worked for Israel-France relations and fought against anti-Semitism.
Four years ago, then anti-Semitic attacks against Jews wearing a skullcap occurred and a heated debate around the issue, Guazagan along with Jewish MP Meir Habib, entered parliament with a skullcap as a measure of support for the Jewish community and anti-Semitism.
Meir Habib eulogized his deceased friend, "I lost a brother," said Habib, adding: "Claude was the true warrior for justice. He fought against anti-Semitism and was Israel's best friend in France throughout his years. Of which he was not a partner. I lost a brother today. France lost a great man and Israel lost a true friend today. "
