Yesterday (27th), someone initiated a tertiary strike in Hong Kong to protest the resumption of the Second Reading of the National Anthem Act and demonstrations broke out in multiple districts. Police said yesterday that 396 people, including 234 men and 162 women, aged between 12 and 70, were arrested in Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Sham Shui Po, Mong Kok, Kwai Chung, Tsuen Wan, Tai Po and Yuen Long. The police said that 180 of the arrested were students, involving about 60 schools, and 80 of them were minors. The police attached great importance to the possession of high-risk items such as dangerous goods and weapons by students, and called on parents and teachers to pay more attention.
