Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs Appointed • Minister Connecting Government and Knesset to serve as Chairman of the Speaker

The government decided Thursday to appoint a ministerial committee on legislative matters. The committee will include 14 ministers who are divided equally between the political blocs that make up the coalition. Seven per block.
On the Likud bloc, the minister linking the government to the Knesset David Amsalem will replace the committee chairman, Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn. In addition, the Likud bloc will serve on the committee: Finance Minister Israel Katz, Minister of Religion Yaakov Avitan, Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana , Minister of Water and Higher Education Ze'ev Elkin, Minister of Construction and Housing Yaakov Litzman and Minister of Jerusalem Rafi Peretz.
On behalf of the Blue Bloc, Minister of Justice Nisnkorn will serve as Chairman, as will Minister of Communications Yoaz Handel, Minister of Culture and Sport Hili Trooper, Minister of Diaspora Omar Yankelevich, Minister of Strategic Affairs Orit Prakas Cohen, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Itzik Shmuli and Minister of Absorption Pnina Tamano Shtah.
In addition, Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit will be regularly invited by the committee, or anyone on his behalf. According to the understanding between the Likud and the blue, the agenda for the committee will be agreed upon in advance between Chairman Nissenkorn and his replacement Amsalem. The committee will be empowered to handle and approve bills before the Knesset. In addition, its members will determine the government's position regarding private bills by the Knesset. .
