The Indonesian health authorities recorded 23 deaths and 687 new cases of the emerging coronavirus, bringing the total deaths in the country to 1496 and infections to 24538, while the number of people recovering from the disease reached 6,240.
Malaysia announced ten new infections, bringing the total to 7,629, without new deaths, to keep the number unchanged at 115.
The Philippine Ministry of Health recorded 17 deaths and 539 new infections in the biggest daily increase in cases since the virus was first detected in the country, bringing the number of infections to 15588 and deaths to 921, and the number of people recovering to 3598 increased after 92 patients recovered.
In turn, Singapore recorded 373 new infections, bringing the number of injuries in the country to 33,249.
For its part, the data of the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases in Germany showed 62 deaths and 353 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths in the country to 8411 and infections to 179717.
South Korea announced that it recorded 79 new cases of the virus, the highest increase in one day since the fifth of last April.
The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that these cases were registered as of midnight on Wednesday and that it had raised the total number of infections in the country to 11,344 in addition to 269 deaths.
In China, the National Health Committee announced the registration of two new confirmed cases of the virus in the mainland yesterday, compared to one case the previous day, noting that the two cases were coming from abroad.
