Taubenberg: Mountain bikers are stopped by the farmer and then pursued
Warngau - It's a mild evening when the chase begins: Michael Grindmayer rides his mountain bike below the Taubenberg . Farmer Hubert Knabl wants to scare the cyclist off his dirt road - and follows him with his Bulldog (seen in the video above).

On the way, Grindmayer sees an e-bike driver and asks for help. To his bad luck, he is an acquaintance of the farmer - and follows him a good kilometer to the Gasthof zur Post, where some people are sitting in the beer garden.

At least that's how Grindmayer (41) from Finsing in the district of Erding tells about the incident that happened in the municipality of Warngau on Father's Day . The fact is: Grindmayer has filed a complaint with the police. According to Johann Brandhuber, chief of Holzkirchen police , because of physical injury, coercion and material damage . "Possibly because of dangerous interference in road traffic," says Brandhuber. The investigation is still ongoing.

And farmer Knabl sees things a little differently. "It was on a closed dirt road that belongs to me," says Knabl. He wanted to confront Grindmayer, but he just went on. "He provoked me." The cyclist had insisted on his supposed right to drive there. "I can, can and like to drive there," says Grindmayr in conversation with Miesbacher Merkur.
"There is no reason to let yourself be chased away there." Then he went behind with the tractor , says Knabl. Knabl claims that he didn't push the Finsinger: "He dropped and complained." Knabl complains again and again, Knabl says. The owners are on their own.
As reported several times, there is often Zoff am Taubenberg between mountain bikers, hikers and property owners. Just a few weeks ago, Knabl met two Munich mountain bikers. The dispute was settled, ads were withdrawn. The eternal argument on the Taubenberg, however, continues.

Brandhuber believes that cyclists will continue to use the landscape as long as there are no regulations. "You have to understand the farmers a bit." But he emphasized with a view to Knabl: "Of course it doesn't work like this." The police had informed the municipality of Warngau as the responsible security authority.
Mayor Klaus Thurnhuber explains that the community had planned a conversation with owners, but had postponed it again because of the corona crisis. Among the farmers are many older people who belong to the risk group and they do not want to endanger anyone. "We hope that we can invite the owners in September." Then to find solutions.
