Two years in prison suspended, 30,000 euros fine and a final ban on holding the office of university president were requested Thursday by the prosecution against the former president of the University of Orleans, Youssoufi Touré, tried for embezzlement of public funds and favoritism. The Orleans Criminal Court reserved its decision on June 25.
President of the university from 2009 to 2016, Youssoufi Touré is suspected of having allowed an ex-collaborator, his ex-partner, to benefit from improper advantages, that is to say 33,020 euros of travel expenses by car between his home and the 'university. Justice also accuses the former head of the university of not having respected the rules for awarding public contracts for the renovation of a building. An architect was also brought to justice for these facts.

Thursday, the deputy public prosecutor of Orleans, Céline Visiedo, thus demanded six months suspended prison sentence and 15,000 euros fine against the former collaborator, as well as one year suspended sentence and 50,000 euros d fine against the architect. Youssoufi Touré explained that he could have made a mistake, "possibly out of ignorance, but not out of intention" .
Youssoufi Touré's successor to the presidency of the University of Orléans, Ary Bruand, had filed a complaint against X in May 2017 following a report by the General Inspectorate of the Administration of National Education and research (Igaer).
