The environmental advisory board wants to avoid possible cases of tree abuse in advance. The occasion is large-scale deforestation in the Moosschwaige in March.

Germering - Advisory Board member Hans-Jürgen Gulder, he was head of the district forestry office until his retirement, said in the first meeting since the Corona crisis: "We found out too late."

However, Gulder also admitted a certain lack of power to the committee: "We as an advisory board can only keep the topic in public."

At the meeting, it was reported that the Lower Nature Conservation Agency has now approached the forest owner. The municipal building authority also wrote to the forest owner. Reason: He should have submitted a building application for his action.

Gulder accused the owner of the deforested area of trading in an industrial style. According to his estimate, around 25 tons of construction material had been deposited from Freiham, the disposal of which would have cost between 150,000 and 200,000 euros. "He took the amount from the city of Munich, who wanted to get rid of their dirt," said Gulder about the owner.

This is now probably fulfilling his duty to reforest. According to Gulder, however, that only costs 15,000 euros. In addition, afforested areas only regain their original quality after several decades.

The leveled area of around one hectare currently looks like arable land after a mixture of different grasses has been sown there. That in itself is ecologically acceptable, says Gulder. According to him, the owner and his legal counsel also argue with the improved quality of the soil. The material brought in from Freiham is a very gravelly clay soil.

Gulder explained that such material is used in agriculture to upgrade the soil. The procedure in the Moosschwaige should be criticized because it is forest floor and spell forest worth protecting. "Forest floors have a structure that has grown over centuries." This is particularly worth protecting. Agricultural land, on the other hand, is regularly changing.

Gulder also pointed out that there used to be similar deposits of building material around the Schusterhäusl. "In terms of quantity less, but also poorer quality."
