For his part, Mohamed Saleh Mahmoud, head of an association in the Palmyra Agricultural Association, called for the necessity of reactivating the Palmyra Firefighting Center in order to control such fires with the required speed and mitigate as much damage as possible, calling on the farmers to return to their orchards and revitalize them again, especially after the return of the historic Afka Spring water to irrigate the oasis. .

The authorities concerned in Palmyra and Homs managed last Tuesday to control the massive fire that affected about two hundred hectares of the area of the historic palm and olive oasis trees located on the southern outskirts of Palmyra and put it out.
