In contrast to the forest kindergarten, the forest play group may not open. "Like the Vhs, we were simply forgotten," says Brigitte Engl, board member of the Kiga.

Ebersberg - - Brigitte Engl normally cycles with her two daughters to the Ebersberger Waldsportpark in the morning. There she brings the big one to the forest kindergarten and then the small one to the forest play group. After the Corona break weeks, she resumed her routine this week. With one difference: The little girl now waves after her sister and then goes home with her mother.

Because their forest play group may not open again. And nobody knows how long it will stay that way. "We have not been considered politically," complains Brigitte Engl. Forest daycare centers were allowed to resume operations across Bavaria last Monday. "We thought that also applies to our forest play group," says Engl, who is involved in the board of the forest kindergarten. After all, the offer for two to three year olds is in the fresh air and includes just ten children as well as large day care groups, which have also been allowed to open again.

The play group may not open

The parents had prepared for it to finally start again. Then came the disillusionment. The play group may not open. The reason: In contrast to kindergartens, crèches and large day care groups, the forest play group is not funded by the Bavarian Child Education and Care Act, or BayKiBiG for short, and therefore does not fall legally under the regulations for care facilities.

Instead, the "general contact restrictions" apply to the approval-free offer and these continue to require the usual distance regulations and hygiene regulations. A maximum of three families can be dealt with and only free care. The Forest Kindergarten Association turned to the city for help.

Proske: That is a matter for the Infection Protection Act

Indoor play groups such as the Ebersberger crumb box are affected in the same way. "Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it," said Mayor Uli Proske (SPD) regrettably when asked by our newspaper. That is a matter of the Infection Protection Act and this has priority. The city can only help financially. In the most recent meeting of the social committee, the city council decided to subsidize the personnel costs of around EUR 2,800, which will continue to exist even in the crisis.

Engl: "It is politically wanted that both parents go to work"

Brigitte Engl does not want to be satisfied with this. "Like the Vhs, we were simply forgotten," she criticizes. The ministry's stipulations are "incomprehensible" and "absurd, especially for us as an outside group". “It is politically desirable that both parents go to work. And now they are left in the rain. Nobody knows what will happen next, ”the mother of two is annoyed. Now she has made inquiries to the district office, the government of Upper Bavaria and the ministry and finally asked both members of the state parliament for help. Hoping that improvements will be made quickly. Until then, her younger daughter stays in the bike trailer in the morning and looks after her sister.
