They tried again together, but now the loser packs his things: The days of political rivals Hubert Zellner (CSU) and Barbara Bogner (UBV) in the Sauerlach town hall are numbered.

Sauerlach - The job advertisement is out, the application deadline is June 18: The community of Sauerlach is looking for a new manager for the planning and construction department as soon as possible. Conversely, this means that the acting head of the building authority, Hubert Zellner (CSU), who was still the favorite of the mayoral candidate in the local elections, is leaving the town hall. "The fact is, I am leaving and that already in autumn," said the 50-year-old administrator at the request of Munich's Merkur. That is the desired date. However, the exact point in time depends on the development of the succession. Of course there would also be a transition period with the following person.

Where are we going? - "I don't want to talk about that yet, but it will be another job in the building administration - but not in the Munich district," said Zellner. But not in Holzkirchen either, as might be suspected. Wife Petra has been working there as a registrar since 2018, after 30 years in the Sauerlach town hall. Zellner has been working for the Sauerlach community for 34 years, is responsible for IT administration and broadband sponsor. In 1985 he was the first trainee in the community. To date, he has worked for three mayors and since 2008 for the acting mayor Barbara Bogner (UBV).

His candidacy for their position had caused all sorts of turmoil in the community. After all, it was about competition under a town hall roof. In the election, however, Bogner received around 53 percent of the votes, Zellner around 34 percent. "The decision to run for mayor was linked to the desire to set a professional course," said Zellner. Now he draws the conclusion from his defeat and does nails with heads. The course of his professional career is called reorientation. He would have wanted to do a lot in Sauerlach. "I'm looking into the future now and don't want to ride around on the negative," concludes Hubert Zellner.

Mayor candidate Zellner is not allowed to join the municipal council
