Samples from the 2017 Tour de France are being retested as authorities search for a previously undetectable performance-enhancing substance, the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported on Saturday. "Based on additional information, we identified the relevant samples and carried out the first analyzes," said a spokesperson for the Fondation Cyclisme Antidopage (CADF), quoted by Het Nieuwsblad. The newspaper reported that the screening was part of an investigation into the Aderlass doping case, which was first revealed when Austrian police raided the 2019 Nordic world ski championships Eight professional runners have since been involved in this scandal. Last November, the International Cycling Union (UCI) said it had asked the CADF to analyze samples from the 2016 and 2017 seasons in the context of the Aderlass case.
