In the end it was "only" enough for second place. The Probst siblings are not disappointed, on the contrary: participation in the camping special of the TV series "Mein Lokal, dein Lokal" made "Lenggrieser Bergcamping" known in half of Germany.

In the end it was "only" enough for second place. The Probst siblings are not disappointed, on the contrary: participation in the camping special of the TV series "Mein Lokal, dein Lokal" made "Lenggrieser Bergcamping" known in half of Germany.

Lenggries - According to Kabel 1, 590,000 viewers watched the program about the campsite at the foot of Brauneck on May 25. After that, the number of hits on the homepage increased drastically: Nine times more interested than usual virtually visited the "Lenggrieser Bergcamping". "It's a dream, you can't get better advertising," says Hans Probst. Together with his sisters Michaela and Katharina, he opened the complex with vacation rooms, chalets and the restaurant "Lahnerstubn" almost two years ago. It went well from the start. But now the booking requests come "every minute". But that's also because many vacationers don't want to go abroad because of the corona pandemic, says Probst.

The shooting took place in Bavaria and Austria shortly before the shutdown in mid-March. A total of five campsites compete against each other in the TV format. The participants rate their competitors' offers according to the categories of service, cleanliness, gastronomy, well-being factor and accommodation options. The best rated place wins. The format originally goes back to the documentary soap "Mein Lokal, dein Lokal". There is a camping special once a year. As reported, a second campsite operator from the district took part in the challenge this year: Alois Perkmann came fourth with his “Camping Kesselberg”.

Answers only carefully chosen initially

A complete episode was dedicated to each participant. The "Lenggrieser Bergcamping" was on May 25th. Before the broadcast, Hansi Probst was quite nervous: For five days, he and his rivals had been filmed from morning to night and answered thousands of questions. Probst did not know what the TV team made of it. "But I'm very satisfied." At the beginning he tried to answer as carefully as possible. "You don't want to say anything wrong." But at some point it didn't matter to him, says the 45-year-old and grins.

Shooting until 2 a.m.

Probst describes the filming as a great but very time-consuming week. It started at 9 a.m. "We were never finished before two in the morning." The TV team, which on average had seven members, filmed significantly more than was shown on television. Much had to be repeated many times. A test of patience, especially when evaluating the gastronomy: "You could eat two forks, then you had to stop and stand up for a different attitude," says Probst and laughs. In the end, the TV people would have teased him by reluctant to put his fork down.

At times the “Lenggrieser Bergcamping” was number one in the rating. In the end it cost points for the Lenggrieser, for example, that there are few leisure opportunities on the square itself. "One has a playground that is as big as our entire place," says Probst. He is not a bit jealous. In his view, it is much more attractive to have the Brauneck leisure arena on the doorstep. The campers obviously see it similarly: the facility is fully booked until the summer holidays.
