Summer is finally here. After the partly cool Pentecost weather, the meteorologists announce temperatures of up to 30 degrees on the Rhine.

Offenbach (dpa) - At first it is still a bit cloudy, but from Whit Monday the weather becomes increasingly summery in Germany. The reason is high "Steffen", which causes the temperatures to rise more and more with more and more sunshine, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Saturday in Offenbach.

On Wednesday, the 30-degree mark could even be reached on the Rhine for the first time this year. Afterwards showers and thunderstorms come in and it gets a little cooler. Larger amounts of rain are still not in sight, explained DWD meteorologist Markus Übel.

On Pentecost Sunday, it can rain a little from Upper Palatinate to Lower Bavaria and western Upper Bavaria. Otherwise the sun shines more often and it stays dry. Under clouds it gets warm between 14 and 20 degrees, with longer sunshine up to 23 degrees in the west. On Whit Monday, 19 to 26 degrees can already be expected.
