Especially in Gernlinden there will be no kindergarten places from September: This was the last message that alarmed parents. Now it was said in the Maisach town council that a solution had been found. How exactly it looks is not yet public.

Maisach - Anika Grüter, who is responsible for day-care centers in the town hall, presented the figures to the local council after the pre-registration. Problems only arise in the area of kindergarten places. According to Grüter, one group is missing: 25 children who live to be three years old until September cannot be accommodated to date. There were a total of 178 registrations for a kindergarten place. 154 girls and boys of them will reach the age limit by September. They have to get a place, their parents have a legal right to it. According to Grüter, children who are only three years old in October, November or even later must remain in the crèche until autumn 2021. It looks good there: All registered girls and boys are accommodated. There was a problem in the crèche area a year ago, but then the new crib was created on the ground floor of the retirement home.

Solution in Gernlinden

Now you have to react in the kindergarten area, said Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU) in the municipal council. You already have a solution that is likely to take place in Gernlinden, and you also have a carrier that can provide enough staff. The details were discussed in a closed session.

Christine Wunderl (Greens) said that she would prefer not to have heard of such a problem from social media - there was excitement in the Maisach group on Facebook. The administration must inform the council members early. And Patrick Götz (Greens) called for a more sensitive approach to information from parents. At the beginning of the year it was said that there were enough places. Now there is a gap. "This creates resentment among parents."

Seidl and Grüter replied that the influx in Gernlinden was massive, the exact space requirement was neither predictable nor calculable. Another problem is that 29 children are so-called returnees: their parents have decided that due to their development they should stay in kindergarten for a year longer and should not go to school yet. This frees up fewer places.

Increase by ten percent

The Ecumenical Neighborhood Aid (NBH) as the carrier of the midday care may increase the fees by ten percent from September. The municipal council decided against eight votes. The deficit that the community has to bear has risen sharply in recent years, also because many more specialist staff are now working in the midday care. As a result, contributions had been increased by ten percent in 2018 because there had been no change since 2010. The NBH had proposed a 20 percent increase two years ago. But the local council at that time decided to proceed in two smaller steps. Now was the second ten percent increase.

This reminded district manager Peter Eberlein of the municipal council when Christine Wunderl (Greens) proposed an increase of five instead of ten percent. Many parents also have financial worries about the Corona crisis. Wouldn't it be better to take five percent more now and then another five percent from autumn 2021? From the CSU, Christa Turini-Huber and Gabriele Rappenglitz opposed that an increase of just five percent meant a maximum of four euros per child. The administrative effort to demand another five percent more by September 2021 is immense. The Greens failed with their application, from September each place will cost ten percent more. With a maximum booking time, nine euros more must be paid per month. By the way: From September onwards, all first graders can be accommodated in lunchtime supervision or after-school care.
