Poing's new development area Lerchenwinkel should be modern and sustainable at the same time, say those responsible. The geothermal energy to which the area is connected should contribute to this.

Poing - The water and sewage pipes have already been laid in the Lingerchenwinkel development area in Poingen, and now the next pipes are coming: The groundbreaking ceremony for the district heating network took place on Friday. According to Franco Gola, managing director of Bayernwerk Natur GmbH, almost five kilometers of lines are being laid. Like the Zauber- and Seewinkel, the new development area will be connected to the Bayernwerk geothermal plant. This is at the roundabout diagonally opposite the OMV petrol station. Bayernwerk pumps 85 degrees deep water up there for district heating from around three kilometers.

Lerchenwinkel Poing: living space for 2000 people

In Lerchenwinkel, north of Bergfeldstrasse, 220 terraced houses and 730 apartments for a total of around 2,000 people are being built. In addition, a high school for around 1000 pupils is being built here. The first houses / apartments should be ready for occupancy in 2022, according to a press release from Bayernwerk.

Geothermal energy, solar lamps, electric filling stations

The area covers 130,000 square meters ( corresponds to about 17 soccer fields ) and is to become a modern and sustainable residential area. That was said by Bayernwerk managing director Gola as well as mayor Thomas Stark and Helmut Sloim, project manager and spokesman for the working group of developers and investors (ARGE) in Bergfeld . According to Gola, this should not only be ensured by climate-friendly district heating using geothermal energy, but according to Stark and Sloim, among other things, environmentally friendly street lighting using solar lamps as well as public electric filling stations, e-bike and e-cargo bike stations.

Poing: Soon over 1000 district heating customers

As Bayernwerk Natur sales manager Robert Budde said at the groundbreaking, the number of district heating customers (households) in Poing will exceed the 1000 mark with the Lerchenwinkel . The first district heating ground-breaking ceremony took place in Poing in 1988, when the construction of the combined heat and power plant on Gruber Straße had begun. The entire district heating network in Poing is now 30 kilometers long or large, says Franco Gola; in Bavaria there are a total of about 200 kilometers of district heating pipes.

Bayernwerk is investing 5.5 million euros

According to sales manager Budde, Bayernwerk is investing around 5.5 million euros in the Lerchenwinkel district heating project . He announced that one of the company's goals is to produce the heat supply in Poing up to 90 percent in a climate-neutral manner; Another goal is to "keep the heat supply for customers" stable in price ".
